BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Councilmember Julian Jones claimed victory in the Democratic race for Baltimore County executive over the weekend, according to reports.
Jones closed on the Democratic nomination late Saturday. Fellow Councilmember Izzy Patoka conceded to Jones via text message around 6:30 p.m., The Banner reported.

"You are the democratic nominee for County Executive and I will support you in your efforts to win the general election," read the message.
Jones will now face Patrick V. Dyer, who was deemed the Republican winner for the 2026 primary after he won over 65% of the vote.
