• U.S. News & World Report ranks BCPS high schools among best in state and nation (nottinghammd.com) — Towson families can celebrate that Towson High is now ranked 32nd in Maryland, up from 48th, in U.S. News & World Report's latest high school list. The rankings, released from Towson, also place Eastern Tech first statewide and recognize multiple other Baltimore County schools. Officials praise the progress while stressing that test-based rankings are only one measure of school quality.
   

• Mdmea announces 2022 incoming board officers (sboplus.net) — Towson readers may be interested that Kate Evans, an associate professor at Towson University, has joined the Maryland Music Educators Association's 2022 board leadership team. She'll work alongside K–12 music teachers from across the state, bringing expertise in choral and general music education. The diverse group is tasked with supporting music curricula and student ensembles in Maryland schools.
   

• Baltimore County launches first rural Small Area Plan (nottinghammd.com) — Baltimore County planners, based in Towson, have kicked off a rural Small Area Plan that will shape land use, infrastructure, and conservation priorities in Granite, Woodstock, and Woodleaf through 2027. Residents there are being asked to help guide decisions on farms, open space, transportation, and recreation. Towson readers may want to follow this as part of the county's broader Master Plan 2030 rollout.
