The Arc Baltimore recently named Matthew Piercey the organization’s Administrative Employee of the Year.
Piercey, who lives in the area, is a key member of The Arc Baltimore’s psych team and shows his commitment every day through his work in counseling, creating behavior plans, conflict resolution, and helping people to make healthy and satisfying connections. He is always thinking about improving supports, whether by adjusting someone’s environment to make it more comfortable and less stimulating, giving out a kind word when it’s much needed, or cracking a joke to help someone relax.
This past year, Matt took on a leadership role in a new initiative called the Healing Center. He has poured his heart and mind into this important work that has proven to be life changing for the 10 participants. This work is topped off by his ongoing commitment to the Connections social group and his desire to help people build bonds of friendship and love.
