A Very Busy Week ... Beginning Saturday, September 21, week 16 was action packed. Nine volunteers spent a full day on Saturday, either in the rafters adding flashing, or on the floor, hammering framework to the walls or making preparations for concrete pouring. At 7 a.m. on Tuesday, the concrete truck rumbled in, workers from the installation company had arrived, and 13 hours later, at 8 p.m., ACTC had a smoothly burnished, solid new floor. Thursday ACTC's volunteer crew of nine spent the day laying out the floor plan, building framework and getting ready for the sidewalk to be poured on Friday. Blessed with good weather for the job ahead of them, the concrete contractor and his crew arrived along with the "cement mixer" around noon, and by 1 p.m., after many trips back and forth with wheelbarrows, expert leveling and smoothing, ACTC had a sidewalk again.
