Assistance Center of Towson Churches: Beating the Clock

Racing to the beat the clock, builders forge full steam ahead to complete their agenda (forgive the mixed metaphors) before the end of the month. On Saturday, November 9, Week 23, their tasks were twofold: engage in general cleanup activities inside to prepare for the start of detailed interior trim work (installation of pre-hung doors, baseboard and chair molding, ledge caps and window sills); finish outside site grading. During the preceding week, electric receptacles had been installed throughout and the highly labor intensive job of placing a 3" cover of gravel under the church ramp for drainage purposes had been finished. Kudos again to the lunch ladies, Cathy B., Julie C. and Leslie S.

Having missed seeing an onsite visit by Chris Burton, structural designer for Carroll Engineering, Inc., the generous donor of design and drawing costs, during the prior week I accompanied Larry to the organization's office in Hunt Valley for a photo op with Judy Carroll, its president, and Terrence Murphy, civil designer. They all expressed the pleasure they felt for being able to make this contribution to the community.
