Baltimore Sun: Senator Theatre to Reopen
North Baltimore landmark has been dark since July
The Sun's Michael Sragow reports on his blog that the Senator Theatre in North Baltimore is slated to reopen Oct. 15. The official announcement will be made at the theater Thursday night. After a lengthy process that began with a foreclosure on previous owner Thomas Kiefaber in 2009, the Cusack family (owners of The Charles Theatre in Baltimore) now runs the theater under a lease from the city. Plans for the first film under the new management have not yet been finalized. The theater has been dark since Kiefaber turned over the keys in July.
