Baseball Brawl Between Orioles, Royals Erupts at Camden Yards

Manny Machado and Kansas City pitcher Yordano Ventura were both ejected after Tuesday night fight.

BALTIMORE, MD – Orioles shortstop and third baseman Manny Machado may be sitting in the dugout for a while.

Machado and Kansas City Royals pitcher Yordano Ventura were both ejected Tuesday night after getting into a fight on the field at Camden Yards.

The fight happened in the fifth inning after Machado came up to bat, and Ventura hit him in the back with a fastball.

"You can ruin someone's career," Machado said after the game, according to the Orioles.com. "When somebody's throwing 99 [mph] at you, it's going to hurt."

He said he did not regret anything, despite the fact that he was ejected and is now facing a suspension.

The Orioles beat the Royals, 9-1.

Ventura contended that the ball "got away" from him and hitting Machado was unintentional.
