BCPS Wins Multiple Communications Awards
An op-ed by the interim superintendent, the Team BCPS blog and others received national honors.

From BCPS:The votes have been counted, and the Baltimore County Public Schools earned six 2018 communications awards from the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA), including two awards of excellence.
“These awards reflect the BCPS commitment to high-quality communications,” said Superintendent Verletta White. “Our talented staff members work very hard to share information in ways that are timely, transparent, educational, and engaging. We see communications as way to reinforce our excellence, engage stakeholders, support the growth of our students and schools, and celebrate our successes.”
In the NSPRA Publications and Digital Media Awards competition, BCPS received awards of excellence, the contest’s highest honors, in the blog category for its Team BCPS blog and in the internet/intranet website category for Growing Up Digital. BCPS and other Award of Excellence winners will be displayed at NSPRA’s 2018 National Seminar in Anaheim, California, from July 15 - 18.

The school system earned four honorable mention awards: in the branding/image package category for elearning graphics; in the E-newsletter (external audience) category for its weekly newsletter; in the excellence in writing category for the op-ed BCPS Interim Superintendent: My Integrity is Not for Sale; and in the special purpose publication category for the book Springtime in BCPS: Selected Haiku Poetry.
Most of these award-winning projects were produced by the BCPS Department of Communications and Community Outreach in close collaboration with schools and offices. The Growing Up Digital website was redesigned earlier this year to better meet parent and student needs, led by representatives from the Department of Innovative Learning, the Department of Information Technology, and the Department of Communications and Community Outreach.
