After five decades of helping people celebrate life’s best moments, fifth-generation jeweler Mark Coleman is stepping into retirement. Nelson Coleman Jewelers is hosting a special retirement sale at its flagship Towson store to commemorate Coleman’s 50-year career helping generations of families mark some of life’s biggest milestones.
“It truly has been a privilege getting to know our customers for so many years, many of whom have become good friends,” Mark Coleman said.
Nelson Coleman Jewelers’ Towson location is hosting a retirement sale beginning March 5, featuring a broad selection of jewelry, including its entire estate collection. Amanda Coleman-Phelps, Coleman’s niece, said including the estate collection is a fitting tribute to her uncle, who is a history buff.
“Some of the most remarkable hand-selected jewelry is part of the sale as well as classical pieces such as diamond studs, tennis bracelets, colored gemstones and bridal jewelry,” she said. Prices range from $25 to $100,000. “Everyone can walk away with something based on their budget,” she said. “That’s part of our core values.”
Loyal customers often stop by just to catch up, and that’s especially true for Mark Coleman, whom Coleman-Phelps described as having an amazing memory when it comes to customers and jewelry vendors. He also has a reputation for being a great storyteller. “He’ll ask customers about birthdays and milestones, details he doesn’t forget,” she said.
