Don't feel guilty. You can admit it right now.
You've driven past The Fire Museum of Maryland at 1301 York Road in Lutherville about a thousand times. But you've never stopped in to visit.
Since 1971, The Fire Museum, in the rear of Heaver Plaza, has been thrilling, educating, and delighting visitors of all ages. But you'll never know just how cool the Museum is unless you pull in and take a look.

The Museum's Holiday Train Garden is open the following Saturdays - December 16 and 23, as well as during holiday week, Wednesday - Saturday, December 27 - 30. Hours are 10 am - 4 pm.
In addition to the Train Garden, the Museum contains a jaw dropping collection of more than 40 pieces of fire equipment, plus, helmets, hoses, hydrants, fire-themed artwork, toys, buckets and badges. The Great Baltimore Fire of 1904 devastated the city's downtown: we have maps, photos, artifacts, and a movie about this historic event. There's even an interactive Discovery Room, where kids can try on pint-sized turnout gear and play on a real Mack fire engine. The Museum is also home to the Baltimore County Volunteer Fireman's Association Roll of Honor.

The Fire Museum of Maryland is a popular choice for children's birthday parties, as well as evening galas, holiday parties, and corporate events.
It won't surprise you to learn that firefighters absolutely love our Museum. But anyone who is interested in American history, the history of technology, American art, or the growth of communities and cities will also find a lot of interest.
The Museum is open Saturdays year round. In the summertime, we're open Wednesdays through Saturdays. When our Train Garden closes at the end of 2017, we start gearing up for our next big production: History Ablaze, Our Great Baltimore Fire Event. History Ablaze takes place Saturday, February 11, 2018, from 1 - 4 pm, and features speakers, interactive tours, and the chance to explore the Museum. Sweet and savory snacks are included with your admission. Locally brewed craft beer from Brew House No16 will be available for sale.

And next time, don't just drive by. Come in and visit.
