Officials say they are investigating a death Thursday morning at a hotel in Towson as a homicide.
TOWSON, MD — A homicide investigation is underway after a shooting was reported at the Comfort Inn in Towson early Thursday morning. Police said the suspect has been arrested.
Authorities said they were called to the 8800 block of Loch Raven Boulevard for a report of a person with a gun after 2:26 a.m. on Thursday, July 18.
Jeremiah David Koch, 30, of Lenhartsville, Pennsylvania, was found dead inside a hotel room with trauma to the upper body that police said was believed to be from a gunshot wound. His body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy.

Investigators said that Koch had been summoned to the hotel room by a third party to calm someone in an agitated state, who subsequently pulled out a gun after he arrived. At that point officials said the third man, who brought Koch into the situation, ran out and called 911.
The suspect initially ran away but was later found in the area and arrested. Officials say they will name the suspected killer Friday once charges are processed.
