MTA: Light Rail Service at Cromwell Station Restored

Delays may persist, Maryland Transit Administration said.

UPDATE: Light rail service has been restored, according to the Maryland Transit Administration. Shuttle buses were canceled, since passengers were able to take the light rail, which had previously been suspended due to weather conditions. Delays of 20 minutes continued after service resumed, according to officials.

Previous report: Light rail service between Cromwell Station and BWI has not been restored, the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) reported before 8:30 a.m. Monday. The MTA erroneously issued a notice stating that service was back on, but that was a false report, the administration said.

The light rail was not operating due to “inclement weather and icy conditions present on overhead wires,” according to the MTA, which was offering shuttle bus service in the interim.
