Crossing Guard Hit By Car On York Road: Police

TOWSON, MD — A crossing guard was seriously injured following a crash on York Road at Stevenson Lane Friday morning, police said.

At 7:47 a.m., a car that was headed east on Stevenson Lane was making a right turn onto York Road when it hit the crossing guard, officials reported.

Police said the crossing guard had been moving from west to east York Road at the time of the collision, and there were no children in the crosswalk when the crash occurred.

The crossing guard was hospitalized with injuries that police said were serious but not believed to be life-threatening.

The driver remained at the scene, according to officials, who were continuing to investigate.
