Driver Died In Towson Crash On Joppa Road: Police
Police said a woman died following a crash in Towson into a utility pole.

TOWSON, MD — A woman died in a crash on Joppa Road Wednesday night, Baltimore County police reported. The driver hit a utility pole, according to police.
Johnnette Leah Smith, 51, of 100 block of Pysell Road in McHenry, was taken to a local hospital after the crash, where she was pronounced deceased, officials said. The Garrett County woman was the only person in her vehicle, which was a 2001 Honda CRV.
According to police, Smith had been headed east on Joppa Road around 9 p.m. Wednesday when she hit the curb and crashed into a utility pole near LaSalle Road.

Baltimore County fire officials took Smith to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.
Officials said that the cause of the crash remained under investigation Thursday.
