Elsie Johnson Turns 100 on January 22, 2015

The retired Baltimore County home economics teacher is a 60-year Towson resident.

Elsie Anna Stratmann Finn Johnson or “Mimi“ was born on Jan. 22, 1915, in Baltimore, and grew up on a farm in Sparrows Point.

She graduated from the University of Maryland College Park with a teaching degree. She married Paul Finn, who was killed in World War II on April 5, 1945, and received the Silver star medal. Paul is buried in Lorraine, France, at the American military cemetery.

Mimi spent over 30 years teaching home economics in the Baltimore County school system. She has lived in the same home on Regester Avenue for the past 60 years.

Mimi has one daughter, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
