The Department of Theatre Arts presents a rollicking Commedia dell’Arte comedy that follows the antics of silly servants, miscreant masters, and lascivious ladies. The miserly Pantalone, the crafty Harlequino, and the lovely Columbina each try to outwit their rivals and end up on top. Physical comedy, exaggerated styles and bawdy innuendo all help to poke fun at respectable society and the man and woman. Based on the sketches of the Italian Commedia dell’Arte and fleshed out with improvisation, these scenarios will lighten your day… and your wallet if you’re not careful. All performances benefit the Towson University Foundation.
