LA MEZQUITA DE CORDOBA: SYMPHONIC BAND IN CONCERT

Under the direction of Department of Music Prof. Dana Rothlisberger, this concert features a new composition by Julie Giroux, La Mezquita de Cordoba inspired by the famous cathedral of the same name located in Spain.  The grandeur and colorful political and religious history has earned the centuries old landmark the distinction as a true wonder of the civilized world.  In La Mezquita composer Giroux has crafted a musical celebration acknowledging the multicultural, religious and artistic accomplishments of the beautiful location.

Also included on the program will be Philip Sparks’ Navigation Inn, Johan de Meij’s At Kitty O’Shea’s, a spectacular suite on Irish folk songs, and Blue and White Dance from the pen of Andrew Boysen, a newly commissioned work by Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity.
