THE BALTIMORE JAZZ EDUCATION PROJECT CONCERT

The Jazz and Commercial music division and the Department of Music host the Baltimore Jazz Education Project annual benefit concert. The BJEP is a non- profit organization dedicated to providing Baltimore’s middle school students with instruments and music lessons. Several students from the Towson University Department of Music are currently teaching through this program. Tonight’s concert will feature local pianist legend, Lafeyette Gilchrist and his band the New Volcanoes. Also appearing will be students from several of the middle schools the Project serves. Donations to the Baltimore Jazz Education Project will be accepted at the event.
