Under the direction of Department of Music faculty member Lee Mills, the Towson University Symphony Orchestra presents an exciting program featuring Stravinsky’s extraordinary suite from The Firebird. This challenging and technical orchestral work is an excellent example of late Romanticism. It served to establish Stravinsky as a prominent ballet composer, and one can occasionally hear signs of Stravinsky’s later ballets Petroushka and The Rite of Spring starting to bubble to the surface.
