Fatal Hit-And-Run Crash: Pedestrian Hit Near Ruxton, Police Say

Police said a Toyota with damage to the driver's side mirror is believed to have killed a 20-year-old man in the Towson area Saturday night.

TOWSON, MD — A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash on North Charles Street Saturday night, according to the Baltimore County Police Department. Authorities said the 20-year-old man was hit by a Toyota Sequoia or Toyota Tundra that left the scene, at which point the victim was hit by a Mercedes, whose driver stopped and called 911.

Mzimazisi Ncube, 20, of the 300 block of Burke Avenue, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased, police said.

The crash happened as Ncube was trying to cross North Charles Street south of Ruxton Ridge Road around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8, police reported.

Officials provided this information about the suspect vehicle:

  • Toyota Tundra or Toyota Sequoia, 2007 to 2019, unknown color
  • Driver's side mirror missing cover and glass
  • Possible front-end damage on the driver's side

After the crash, the driver continued north on North Charles Street, officials said.

The Baltimore County Police Department's crash team is investigating.
