Fire At Towson University Marriott Caused $30K In Damage: Officials
The fire at the Towson hotel started in a storage room, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

TOWSON, MD — Fire broke out at a hotel in Towson Sunday night. The fire marshal reported on Monday that the blaze caused $30,000 and was still under investigation.
Employees discovered the blaze in the unit block of Burke Avenue at 9:51 p.m. on Sunday, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal. The hotel where the fire broke out is owned by Towson University.
Approximately 20 firefighters responded and extinguished the blaze, which had started in a storage room of the hotel, the fire marshal reported.

Towson University police assisted in the investigation, the fire marshal said, and a cause has not yet been determined.
Officials said there was $20,000 in structural damage and $10,000 in damage to items inside the hotel.
