Free Parking in Towson to Encourage Local Holiday Shopping
Parking meters will take a vacation for five days next week in Baltimore County.

TOWSON, MD - Parking meters in Towson and other parts of Baltimore County will be free five days next week, officials announced, a gift to those shopping locally for Christmas and Hanukkah.
Two-hour parking will be free at 1,735 meters in Baltimore County, which will be covered with "Seasons Greetings" bags from Wednesday, Dec. 21, to Sunday, Dec. 25.
In addition to Towson, meters will be free in Arbutus, Catonsville, Dundalk, Essex, Overlea, Parkville, Pikesville, and Stoneleigh.

“The rush is on and Baltimore County is offering a little relief at the parking meter during the busiest days of the holiday season,” Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz said in a statement. “We encourage everyone to support our local merchants for original gifts and personal service.”
