Goucher Serves Up Maryland's Best College Dining Hall Food, Survey Says

Spoon University ranked the best dining halls in each state​, and Goucher College made the cut.

TOWSON, MD — Cafeteria food is not always what it sounds like, especially for students at Goucher.

The college off Dulaney Valley Road has bragging rights to the best dining hall food in Maryland.

The list of colleges with the best dining halls was compiled by USA Today news partner Spoon University, which features contributions from college students, using data from Niche.com.

Some colleges on the best dining hall list had unique situations like an on-campus creamery, a school bakery and all-organic dining options.

What made Goucher stand out was its variety of offerings, from sushi to kosher.

"With top ratings in healthy, ethnic and kosher foods, Goucher College comes in at #23 nationally," according to Spoon University. "Heubeck dining hall is the best on campus and I can’t help to think it may be because this hall offers the student favorite sushi dish."

Goucher College, which uses a catering company called Bon Appétit to provide its food, was also ranked 19th best college for dining by the Princeton Review.
