Source Of Towson Building Fire Identified: Providence VFC

Firefighters handled a call at a residential building Tuesday in Towson.

TOWSON, MD — Firefighters were called to Towson Tuesday afternoon for a residential building fire, according to authorities.

Fire broke out in the unit block of Southerly Court, the Providence Volunteer Fire Company reported before 1 p.m.

Crews determined an elevator motor was the source of the blaze, officials said.

Firefighters reported finding smoke on the sixth floor of a six-story apartment building. One engine and one truck responded to the building fire, officials said.
