Highway Shooting Starts On I-83, Continues Onto I-695: Police

Officials say they are investigating shots fired at a vehicle on two highways in Baltimore County.

BALTIMORE — Authorities are asking for information about a highway shooting on Interstate 695 that allegedly involved a dark-colored vehicle without hubcaps. The shooting started Wednesday night on Interstate 83 and continued on Interstate 695, according to police.

Officials said the victim was not injured, and investigators are unsure whether the victim and suspect know each other.

The victim called 911 to report the incident before 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31, according to Maryland State Police.

Police said that victim reported a dark or mid-size SUV or sedan with tinted windows came up behind the caller's gray SUV on I-83 north near Northern Parkway. Then someone from the hubcap-less vehicle started shooting at the victim's vehicle, which was a 2019 Volvo XC60, according to the report.

At another point, the suspect vehicle drove up next to the Volvo and shot again, police said, as the drivers continued on the outer loop of I-695 near Greenspring Avenue until the victim exited at Reisterstown Road.

The victim did not get the tag number, police said.
