Hit-And-Run Crash Injures 11-Year-Old Girl Near Towson: Police

Police said a burgundy sedan hit and seriously injured a child on Friday afternoon in Baltimore County.

TOWSON, MD — Police said an 11-year-old girl was injured in a hit-and-run crash this week in Baltimore County. This child was hospitalized, and the driver remains at large.

The suspect vehicle was described as a burgundy four-door sedan.

Before 4 p.m. on Friday, police said an 11-year-old girl was hit by the car while she was crossing Chestnut Oak Road near Yakona Road. Police said the child was in the part of the road where it was legal to cross.

The sedan was headed south on Chestnut Oak Road, where it had turned from the westbound lane of Yakona Road, authorities said. After the girl was hit, the car left the area, according to officials.

Police reported the child was taken in serious condition to a local hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.
