House of Cards Films in Towson
This week's shoot was one of many Towson connections for the Netflix show.

Towson was the site of a House of Cards shoot this week for the hit show’s fourth season.
Students at Towson University reported that producers were on campus turning classrooms into hospital rooms for their set.
It is one of several connections that Towson has to the Netflix political thriller.

More than 20 Towson alumni have worked on House of Cards, their positions ranging from property master to assistant director, according to Towson University.
In season three, when character Doug Stamper (played by Michael Kelly) went through physical rehabilitation, he was actually on campus at the Institute for Well Being, according to The Towerlight, the Towson University student newspaper.

During season two, the show held one of its shoots at the Towson courthouse, Patch previously reported.
And, while many of the scenes are filmed in the Baltimore metro area and are supposed to appear to be in D.C., during the third season Towson was actually referenced by name as the location where hacker Gavin Orsay (played by Jimmi Simpson) was getting tested for a sexually transmitted disease at a health clinic.
