I-83 Snarled From Downed Tree: Reports

BREAKING: Drivers headed south on I-83 into Baltimore City are hitting major delays.

BALTIMORE, MD — Traffic was at a standstill on Interstate 83 at Ruxton Road Wednesday afternoon, where cameras showed vehicles using a break in the median to turn around after 3:30 p.m.

A tree had reportedly fallen on I-83 south, causing the delays in the area north of Northern Parkway.

As of 3:45 p.m., all lanes had reopened and the tree had been removed, according to WBAL Radio.

The fall occurred during a severe thunderstorm that blew through the area with winds up to 60 mph and penny-sized hail.
