Kenilworth Farmers Market Opens For Second Week Of Season
The farmers market at the Shops at Kenilworth will be open for business Tuesday.
TOWSON, MD — The Kenilworth Farmers Market returns for the second week of the season Tuesday. Due to the new coronavirus, the market has taken measures to ensure people stay at least 6 feet away from one another.
Organizers said the footprint of the market, which is held in the parking garage area of the Shops at Kenilworth, has tripled.
"We understand a lot of folks are concerned about safety, with both food and personal health, so we are especially conscious as we move forward," Kenilworth Farmers Market Manager Cindy Yingling said in a statement. "Measures to ensure the comfort and safety of our patrons and vendors alike will be implemented."

After Gov. Larry Hogan ordered nonessential businesses to close in March, the Maryland Department of Agriculture issued a statement asking that farmers markets remain open.

"Farmers markets play a critical role in providing fresh, nutritious and locally-produced food products to customers across the state," Maryland Agriculture Secretary Joe Bartenfelder said in a statement. "It is important that we keep that supply line open while making sure we implement the same preventative measures used in grocery stores and other essential retail businesses."
The producer-only market at Kenilworth features vendors offering fruits, vegetables, eggs, cheese, honey, wine, flowers, baked goods and other products.
"The Kenilworth Farmers Market is an essential opportunity to offer the community with fresh, local produce, and other foods while supporting local farmers and artisans," said Brian Gibbons, whose company, Greenberg Gibbons, manages, the shopping center. "We’re thankful to continue to host this resource at The Shops at Kenilworth."
The Kenilworth Farmers Market is rain or shine, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. every Tuesday from April 14 through Nov. 24. It is in the lower level of the parking deck at the Shops at Kenilworth at 800 Kenilworth Drive, Towson, MD 21204. Parking is in the lower level parking lot.
