Knife Fight Among Dumbarton Middle Students On Bus Reported
Police and Dumbarton Middle School officials say they are investigating a knife fight that broke out aboard a Baltimore County school bus.

TOWSON, MD β A fight on the school bus broke out among students from Dumbarton Middle School students on Monday afternoon, according to reports. A 12-year-old has been charged in the case after he allegedly pulled a folding knife on a 13-year-old boy, according to WJZ.
Dumbarton Middle School's principal left a voicemail for parents Monday evening alerting them about the knife incident on the school bus and letting them know police and school officials were addressing it, WJZ reported.
The students involved were reportedly both charged as juveniles with separate offenses, and neither was injured.

The 12-year-old was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and the 13-year-old was charged with assault, according to The Baltimore Sun, which reported the 12-year-old had a can of mace in addition to the folding knife.
In a separate incident on the same bus, No. 5777, the newspaper reported another student was found with a folding knife.

Baltimore County Public Schools reserves the right to videotape and audio record students on school buses to use for disciplinary purposes.
Possessing a pocket knife is subject to disciplinary action from suspension to expulsion, according to the student handbook for Baltimore County Public Schools.
