Last Day Of School In Baltimore County Pushed Back For 2019

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Baltimore County Public Schools officials announced the last day of school for the 2018-2019 academic year will be later than originally planned. The final day of classes for students will be Monday, June 17.

And although June 5 was originally slated to be a professional development day with no school for students, officials reported that pupils must attend classes on June 5.

By Maryland law, school systems must offer 180 hours of instruction each academic year.

To account for inclement weather, Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS) had built four makeup days into the school calendar.

There have been six days so far when BCPS has been closed due to inclement weather, officials reported this week.

The last day of school will now be Monday, June 17. The school year was originally scheduled to end on Friday, June 14, according to the announcement.
