Local Pie Opens Pizza Parlor in Heart of Towson
Here's a slice of good news—there's a new pizza place in the neighborhood.

Local Pie is fresh out of the oven in Towson, opening its doors to the public this week.
The pizzeria is in the spot on West Pennsylvania Avenue where Havana Road used to be. That restaurant closed in late September so its owner could focus on a line of pre-made Cuban meals, according to Baltimore magazine.
While the name and restaurant are new to Towson, the pair behind Local Pie has been around the dining community for some time.

Lisa Heckman and Peter Wood, who owned the pizzeria Iggies in Mount Vernon for nine years before selling it in July, took over the West Pennsylvania Avenue restaurant in August, The Baltimore Sun reported.
Local Pie officially welcomed customers Wednesday night, according to nearby business Maryland Signs, which reported the pizzeria is “farm-to-table” style, meaning ingredients are fresh, seasonal and local.
