Loch Raven High School on Alert Amid Weapon Scare: Police
Officials were called to the school for a report of an armed person Tuesday afternoon, Baltimore County police said.

One school was on standby and another was dismissed in Towson Tuesday after an armed subject was reported, according to Baltimore County public safety officials.
At 12:39 p.m. on Tuesday, authorities received a tip that a person with a weapon may be in the vicinity of Loch Raven High School, Baltimore County police said.
Following the unverified report, Loch Raven High School was on ”alert status,” according to the Baltimore County Police Department, meaning nobody could enter or exit the building at 1212 Cowpens Avenue in Towson.

School activities proceeded as usual, albeit inside, police said, before 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
Baltimore Lutheran school on Concordia Drive was being dismissed, Baltimore County officials said at approximately 2:23 p.m. Authorities reported that Loch Raven High School remained on alert.

Police said after 3:15 p.m. that nothing was found but police were remaining in the area as the schools were dismissed for the afternoon.
