Maryland State Fair Closed Due To Weather Wednesday

The Maryland State Fair is closed Wednesday, Sept. 1.

TIMONIUM, MD — Due to weather, the Maryland State Fair will be closed Wednesday, Sept. 1. Organizers announced the closure Wednesday morning.

The Baltimore-Washington region is on alert as the remnants of Tropical Depression Ida pass through the region.

Baltimore County is under a flood warning until 10:15 a.m. Authorities said 1.5 to 2.5 inches of rain had fallen before 5 a.m. and another 0.5 to 1.5 inches were possible during the warning period.

A flash flood watch is in effect for Baltimore County until 8 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 2.

During the flash flood watch period, 2 to 4 inches of rain could fall as the remnants of Ida interact with a stalled front. Up to 6 inches of rain are possible, according to the National Weather Service.
