MTA Bus Crash on Joppa Road Injures One: Police
Part of Joppa Road was closed Tuesday afternoon because of a crash.
Joppa Road was closed for hours between Fairmount and Virginia avenues Tuesday afternoon because of a crash involving an MTA bus and a pickup truck, according to Baltimore County public safety officials.
One person was seriously injured, police reported.
The driver of the pickup truck was hospitalized with serious injuries; the MTA bus driver was taken to the hospital for an evaluation; and the single passenger on the bus was uninjured, according to police.

Preliminary investigation indicates that at approximately 2:52 p.m., the driver of a Ford F-150 was headed east on East Joppa Road when his vehicle drifted across the center lane into westbound traffic and hit the MTA bus, which was in the right lane next to the curb, police said.

The Ford F-150 hit the bus on the front driver’s side, according to police.
The Baltimore County Police Department’s crash team was investigating the incident, which shut down Joppa Road for several hours Tuesday as a result.
