Pier A.H. Blake Joins Maryland CASA Board
TOWSON, Md. (June 23, 2014) – Maryland Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Association has appointed Pier A.H. Blake to a two-year term on the organization’s board of directors.
As a Columbia, Maryland resident and a University of Maryland graduate, Blake brings 20 years of experience in development, fundraising and nonprofit work to the board and will be a valued asset to the mission and work of the Maryland CASA Association. Blake has volunteered as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) in Prince George’s County before joining the board
“I believe in the mission of CASA and want to serve,” Blake says when asked what motivated her to be on the Maryland CASA board of directors.
Blake is the Executive Director at Jack and Jill of America Foundation, Inc., which acts to influence the ongoing positive development of children. There Blake received the Champion Award in 2008. Prior to that, Blake worked at the national level for American Red Cross and received the Fundraising Award in 2003 and the Employee Recognition Award in 2006 for her work.
Maryland CASA Association is a private, non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to ensuring the rights of all victims of child abuse and neglect to grow up in safe, permanent homes. This mission is carried out in partnership with the state’s 15 Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) programs, which provide trained volunteer advocates to speak up for the best interests of children.
