Radebaugh Park In Towson Breaks Ground
A new park is under development off Maryland Avenue in Towson.
TOWSON, MD — County officials broke ground at a new park in Towson on Tuesday that they say will allow residents space to walk and picnic. Radebaugh Park will be located on Maryland Avenue off Burke Avenue.
The name comes from the Radebaugh Florist, a business that was previously on the land.
Baltimore County purchased the property from the florist in fall 2016 using $1.1 million in Program Open Space funds.

"We are excited to be moving forward on Radebaugh Park, which will be an oasis of open space for people from the surrounding neighborhoods to relax and unwind,” Baltimore County Executive Don Mohler said in a statement about the groundbreaking.
The park is expected to be complete by the end of 2018.

“This is the first new public park in eastern Towson in more than two decades, and it will provide green space in one of our most densely-populated areas,” 5th District Councilman David Marks said in a statement. "In addition to support from County Executive Mohler, our state legislators, and residents, I would like to acknowledge the work of our late County Executive Kevin Kamenetz. He kept his word, and the land was preserved.”
