Robber Pleads Guilty to 7 Holdups in Greater Baltimore: U.S. Attorney

A northwest Baltimore man pleaded guilty Wednesday to seven commercial robberies, including one in Towson.

Darryl Norris, 36, of the 3600 block of Manchester Avenue in Baltimore, admitted he and two others used fake guns to hold up stores in the greater Baltimore area over the course of a month last year, according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney for the District of Maryland.

In the most serious of the robberies—Game Stop at 8067 Liberty Road in Milford Mill—authorities said the robbers pointed guns that looked real at an employee to get the worker to open the register, then zip-tied the employee’s hands.

They forced the employee to show them the safe, stole the worker’s cell phone and left with $7,833.79 in cash and merchandise, according to the U.S. Attorney. That robbery occurred Sept. 24, 2014, near the tail end of the monthlong robbery spree.

These were the six other robberies included in the plea agreement:

• 7-Eleven, 8621 Pleasant Plains Road, Towson; Sept. 27, 2014
• Royal Farms, 4045 Wilkens Avenue, Baltimore; Sept. 21, 2014
• Royal Farms, 3635 Keswick Road, Baltimore; Sept. 21, 2014
• Cappy Cleaners, 6705 Belair Road, Baltimore; Sept. 18, 2014
• The Summit at Owings Mills, 1 Meridian Lane, Owings Mills; Sept. 18, 2014
• Rainbow Clothing, 1066 Maiden Choice Lane, Arbutus; Aug. 26, 2014

The total loss from the six robberies above was $5,650.36, according to the U.S. Attorney; the Towson robbery resulted in a loss of $1,210.

Sentencing is set for Oct. 16, and if the court accepts the plea agreement, Norris will be sentenced to 108 months in prison, according to the U.S. Attorney.
