Rubeling & Associates Nears Completion of Design for U.S. Lacrosse Headquarters
The new 45,000-square-foot National Lacrosse Center will be located in Sparks.

Rubeling & Associates, Inc., one of the region’s leading architecture and interior design firms, is completing its design of the new, three-level, 45,000 square foot US Lacrosse headquarters and National Lacrosse Center, exhibition and training field, and a 500-seat spectator area in Sparks, Maryland. US Lacrosse has outgrown its current space on University Parkway to the point where its offices are divided among four separate workspaces in two buildings a block apart.
The new facility on 12 acres will include an expanded Lacrosse Museum and National Hall of Fame, along with a broad promenade between the facility and playing field. The field will serve as a permanent training facility for the U.S. national teams and be available to visiting teams from around the country.
The Creator’s Game statue will be relocated from the existing US Lacrosse location to the new promenade. It will be surrounded by the names of some of the founding members, as well as a memorial with the names of those in the lacrosse community who perished in the September 11 terrorist attacks.

Continued Rubeling, “This is an opportunity to provide a new facility that will allow the organization to reach more individuals who are passionate about the sport. We are proud to be enhancing the lives of not just the US Lacrosse staff, but also the many individuals – children and adults – who appreciate and enjoy lacrosse.”

Adds Dave Recchia, Rubeling & Associates partner and architect for the building, “The longer modular red brick exterior and the building’s curved forms with linear elements captures the athleticism, movement, and energy of the game.”
Construction is slated to begin in spring 2015 with completion in 2016.
