Fatal Gas Station Shooting: Police Say Deadly Gunfight Erupted on York Road

BALTIMORE, MD — A 21-year-old man was killed in a shooting that happened Wednesday night at a gas station in the 5100 block of York Road, police said.

At 11:28 p.m., authorities responded to a reported shooting and found the victim with gunshot wounds to the torso. He was taken to an area hospital, where officials said he was later pronounced deceased. He has not yet been publicly identified.

Investigators said that preliminarily, it appeared that the victim was pumping gas when someone approached him and fired several times, at which point the victim produced a handgun and returned fire.

Police said the suspect left on foot.
