Weather Alert: Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued For 4 Counties (Update)
BREAKING: The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for four Maryland counties.

(Updated at 5:05 p.m.) ANNAPOLIS, MD — The National Weather Service has extended a severe thunderstorm warning for Anne Arundel and Prince George's counties until 5:45 p.m. on Thursday and added Baltimore and Howard counties to the warning area. At 4:52 p.m., severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Catonsville to Brooklyn Park, moving northeast at 20 mph.
Locations affected include Baltimore, Pikesville, Middle River, Elkridge, Glen Burnie, Ellicott City, Dundalk, Towson, Catonsville, Woodlawn, Randallstown, Parkville, Owings Mills, Carney, Milford Mill, Perry Hall, Lochearn, Arbutus, Rosedale and Ferndale.
Locally heavy rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may cause ponding of water on roadways and cause small streams to go out of their banks. Be alert for standing water and hydroplaning. This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

Damaging winds may cause trees and large branches to fall, damaging homes and vehicles. Roads may be blocked, and power outages are possible.
