School Safety And Discipline Meeting Set For Towson

Discipline and safety will be discussed at schools around Baltimore County this month, including in Towson.

TOWSON, MD – One of five community meetings about school safety and discipline in Baltimore County Public Schools will be held in Towson. The sessions are designed for community superintendents and other school system representatives to hear from parents and residents about safety practices.

The meeting in Towson will be at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 28, at Greenwood - E Building.

Baltimore County Public Schools representatives in attendance will be from the Department of School Safety, Office of Student Support Services, Office of School Climate and Office of Community Superintendents.

The purpose of the meetings is for school system officials to "hear concerns and gather input from parents and community members on safety practices," according to a statement from Baltimore County Public Schools.

The meetings are coordinated by the Education Advisory Council of Baltimore County, which is a liaison between the school board and community. The council holds monthly meetings in different parts of the county to gather feedback from community members and inform them about new policies and initiatives.

Five spots around the county are hosting the school safety and discipline meetings:

Central: 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 28, Greenwood - E Building, Room 114, 6901 Charles Street
Northeast: 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 12, Joppa View Elementary School, 8727 Honeygo Boulevard
Southwest: 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 12, Johnnycake Elementary School, 5910 Craigmont Road
Northwest: 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 21, at Pikesville High School, 7621 Labyrinth Road
Southeast: 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 26, at Oliver Beach Elementary School, 12912 Cunninghill Cove Road
