Schools Delayed in Baltimore County on Thursday

With the potential for icy roads Thursday morning, schools are opening late in Baltimore County.

All public schools in Baltimore County will open two hours late on Thursday, Jan. 21, according to Baltimore County Public Schools.

Roads may be icy Thursday morning due to below-freezing temperatures and light snowfall Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Baltimore County received 0.6 inch of snow in Oella, based on preliminary data submitted to the weather service.

Drivers are advised to take it slow on ice and snow, being especially careful on bridges, overpasses and shady areas where ice may have developed as well as parking lots and untreated roads.

Increasing following distance on the road is a good idea, transportation officials say.
