Scratch-Off From Towson Nets $20,000 Prize

A Ravens scratch-off ticket bought in Towson won the grand prize, Maryland Lottery officials said.

TOWSON, MD — A purchase resulted in a $20,000 win for one Towson shopper this week. While at the Weis Market on Putty Hill Avenue, a woman who calls herself "Ravens Fan Suzie" bought a Ravens-themed scratch-off ticket.

After scratching off the $2 ticket, she discovered she had won the top prize of $20,000.

Suzie cashed in on her winnings on Wednesday, Sept. 26, according to the Maryland Lottery.

The money will go toward buying a generator, since she and her husband have experienced power outages lately, and some of the cash will be given to her son and grandson, Suzie told lottery officials.

The Weis Market at 1238 Putty Hill Avenue in Towson will earn a $200 bonus, or 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling the top-prize ticket.
