Cactus At Towson Condo Led To Emergency Response: Officials

Smoke in a Towson high-rise building was traced to a smoldering cactus, according to the Baltimore County Fire Department.

TOWSON, MD — A smoldering cactus drew first responders to Towson Saturday night, according to the Baltimore County Fire Department. Firefighters were dispatched to the 12th floor of a high-rise for a report of smoke at 9:38 p.m., officials said.

When they got to Allegheny Avenue, crews said there were no flames visible. The address for the incident was The Penthouse, which is a condominium building.

Initially, crews thought an unattended pot on the stove may have been the source of the smoke.
