Stand To Honor Event Salutes America's Fallen Servicemen & Women
Participants at Calvert Hall High School from Sept. 13th – 15th to stand in the boot imprints of fallen soldiers to raise funds
Folds of Honor is proud to announce that it is hosting "Stand to Honor" at Calvert Hall College High School in Towson, Md., beginning Friday, September 13th and continuing through Sunday, September 15th. Two weeks later, a second one-day event will take place at The Village at Waugh Chapel in Gambrills, Md., on Saturday, September 28th. Both events will begin with opening ceremonies, including a color guard and the singing of the national anthem.
The "Stand to Honor" event is an initiative dedicated to helping the Folds of Honor organization fund scholarships for spouses and children of America's fallen and disabled U.S. servicemen and women.
Participants can donate $25 to stand for thirteen minutes on a platform that contains the boot imprints of a fallen U.S. service-member. The number thirteen represents the thirteen folds of an American burial flag given to the families of a fallen service member. All of the 13 platforms were built and assembled for the event by Hayes Construction including one platform that is wheelchair accessible.
