Sushi Bar is Complete Japanese Experience

Kyodai serves up sushi, rolls and more on its rotating bar

The intersection of York Road and Pennsylvania Avenue in central Towson is home to enough sushi restaurants to make even the most ardent sushi enthusiast take pause. In order for a place to succeed, though, it has to stand out.

does it with its rotating sushi bar, a marvel of impulse buying imported from similar places in Japan and elswhere. Sushi chefs load up the conveyer belt with a selection of quick sellers—the California rolls, the spicy tuna rolls, the edamame—while you can order more exotic special selections.

At the softly lit restaurant you can choose from either bar or table service. Lanterns and other Japanese trinkets hang from the ceiling, the traditional theme for an Asian eatery. The servers are quick to greet you and take your order. The restaurant's owner, Tony Yan, will even come over occasionally to see how your meal is going. In terms of attentiveness, Kyodai has it down.
