Towson Burglary Suspect Scared By Dog: Police

TOWSON, MD — Authorities are asking for help identifying the suspect in a home burglary in the Idlewylde area. He apparently is scared of dogs.

A home surveillance camera showed the burglar enter the property, leave, return and hightail it out again; both departures were prompted by the dog barking.

The suspect went to the home in the 1100 block of Arran Road just after midnight on Friday, Oct. 6, with what appeared to be a gun in his right hand, police said.

The resident was inside the home at the time of the burglary and saw the suspect running away after 12:12 a.m., police said.

At 12:04 a.m., the suspect could be seen looking through the sliding glass door into the kitchen, where the resident was walking around, police said.

At 12:06 a.m., the burglar walked around the sunroom with what looked like a handgun in his right hand, according to officials. He was trying to open the door but got spooked by the dog and left, police reported.

At 12:12 a.m., the suspect came back and was trying to open the sliding glass door again when the dog began frantically barking, police said.

The homeowner followed the dog to the rear gate and saw the suspect running through a back alley, according to officials.
