TOWSON, MD — The Fourth of July festivities in Towson offer a range of activities. There is a race, a parade and a fireworks display. Know of other activities? Add them in the comments so we can put them on the list.
Towson Parade: The Towson Parade will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4. It travels from Allegheny to Washington to Towsontown to Bosley. Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan is among those who will be appearing, as well as marching bands, community groups and others. Parking will be free in all county garages. See the parade route and a parking map below.

Fireworks Show: Fireworks will blast off at 8:30 p.m. from Loch Raven Academy, 8101 Lasalle Road, Towson, MD 21286. The rain date is Wednesday, July 5. The Greater Towson Council of Community Associations coordinates the fireworks show, which is completely funded by donations.

4-Mile Race and 1776 Family Fun Run: The 4 on the 4th is a 4-mile run/walk. There is also a shorter "family run." The race goes from Washington Avenue around Towson University and up Bosley Avenue to Washington Avenue. The 4-Mile Run/Walk begins at 8:30 am. The 1776 Family Fun Run will begin at approximately 8:45 a.m. The starting point is at Patriot Plaza by the Towson Courthouse. Online registration closed Thursday, June 29. The 4-mile run is $35 if registering on race day; the 1776 Family Fun Run is $20 on race day.
Bike Rush: Bring your bike for a bike rush at this event across from Towson University in the lot at the Marriott, 10 Burke Ave, Towson, MD 21204. The fun starts at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 4.
