Towson Golfers March in St. Patrick's Day Parade in Ireland
Towson golfers took a swing at marching and made national news.
A group of Towson students celebrated St. Paddy's Day in Ireland, where they were on a weeklong golf tour and made national news Monday night.
The men and women's golf teams from Towson University are playing "some of the toughest courses in the world" this week, according to Towson Athletics, perfecting their game on the Killeen Course, Waterville, Doonberg Golf Course and Lahinch Golf Club on the Old Course.
On Monday, however, the students took a break from their game to march in a parade in Killarney, according to Towson Athletics, which reported the Tigers made it into a national 6 p.m. news broadcast of parades in Ireland Monday.
And apparently, they weren't the only Towson affiliates in town.
"We found some people in the crowd that also graduated from Towson as well," Krissy Unger, sophomore golfer, said in a YouTube video of the parade, posted by Towson Tigers.
